Leslie Marshall

The Puppy Tutor

Leslie has developed foundation puppy classes for Campaign Dog Academy in Georgetown, where she started assisting classes in 1988. Quickly advancing to become a  senior instructor, she currently teaches group classes and private lessons for the competitive dog enthusiast. She has also instructed hundreds of puppies with positive based training methods in classes at Guelph Animal Hospital. She currently presents a comprehensive Puppy Management class for owners with new puppies, through Guelph Animal Hospital. Leslie’s main focus is on her Puppy Tutor business, offering private in home training, where puppies can successfully  learn basic skills and manners in an environment without distractions.

Even very young puppies can successfully learn how to get your attention by sitting politely, rather than jumping all over people! When a puppy is positively reinforced for appropriate behaviours, and making good choices, it wants to repeat these behaviours. Once a skill is mastered at home, then distractions should be introduced in variety of locations.

For those puppies and adolescent dogs that already  have some quirks in their behaviour that an owner doesn’t appreciate, Leslie has numerous helpful solutions. She understands how to read canine body language, and communicate effectively with dogs, guiding them in the right direction with more appropriate behaviours.

Leslie competes in a variety of dog sports with her own dogs. Her Miniature Schnauzers continue to be successful in obedience, Rally, agility and conformation. Several of her Schnauzers have ranked nationally in a number of dog sports in Canada since 1990.

Let The Puppy Tutor work with you to achieve your goals,
